Oh, Hello

Hmm, hello there blog. I haven't forgotten about you. No, not at all. I just got busy with moving to Chicago and trying to find a job and praying that the house in Michigan would sell and FAST (sidenote: it did!) and then so much time had passed that I didn't know how to pick things back up with you again and so I kept putting off contact with you, but lately I've been thinking about you a lot and I finally just decided to get in touch. So, hello.

Let me tell you some of the more major events that have been happening to me since last we spoke. I moved to Chicago as planned and have really been loving it. I found a wonderful job at a PR firm as the office manager. And this isn't just any PR firm, it is a food specific PR firm. And that means that we do a lot of talking about food and sampling of food and food is all around and it is lovely. And then I got engaged! Except, then I wasn't anymore. Just recently my 13 year relationship, my almost-one-year engagement was ended by the person that I thought was the one. The person I thought I would always be with. The person that I thought would never, ever, in a million years do this to me. Except he did. He broke up with me and he moved out and now I am just trying to pick up the pieces. That's what I've been up to lately. Picking up pieces scattered all around me. He is still in my life. Oh, things don't end that easily and without confusion after 13 years I guess. And so I'm wading through this haze of love and lost love and hurt and confusion and just trying to take it one day at a time.
